Nice list of places to eat…..I used it a few times. Great place to start exploring. ith this list I can now stay away from the like of Chilli and Applebee.
Quick one …..when is Hiro a chinese place……maybe they are from Taiwan. I have to chat with the owners next time to sort it out. Great place……..
You must check out Jazz if you haven’t had any Cajun here is Omaha. I think it is a chain, but I have been really happy with the food everytime I have been there, and they have a Bugs and Beer night (2lbs of crayfish, 2 beers 10 bucks)!
Try Stokes for fish tacos.
I will never eat at the Jazz again…the food was not that great…definately not traditional cajun. Also the fact that they call fried chicken (COONASS CHICKEN)IS JUST A SLAP IN THE FACE TO AFRICAN AMERICANS…..NO SUPPORT OVER HERE
Last I heard Red Zone uses store bought BBQ sauce.
I have no idea. I LOVE their spicy sauce on their cheesy potatoes with their hot pickles…. *drools* I used to eat there every Thursday with my former boss and one of my best friends. I SO owe them a review. With as much business as I have given them… I owe them. Perhaps today.

To Jamaar: Coming from Texas, I knew a few Coonasses… It has nothing to do with being black/African American or any race or racial slur. It has 100% to do with being Cajun. Some people find it offensive, some people find it a badge of honor. Take your pick (Link below)

The Dundee Dell has great Fish and Chips.
I will have to try them…. *smacks lips*
Good list, I can agree with most of those top restaurants.
Since you’re obviously such a big fan of Hiro, I would recommend you try their eggrolls (my mom makes them). She is considering opening a Kiosk where she sells Vietnamese appetizers, I’ll keep you posted.
Cam
@CAM: We have had them. We loved them.
What I like about BoBo’s is the way they mince the chicken and cabbage together before cooking. It all comes together as a semi-solid mass. Damn it… now I need to have Hiro’s again..
Thanks Libby! We love fish n chips!
Omaha Critic, I’d love to buy you some to try, stop in some time and ask for me.
We have great Fried Pickles, Sandwiches and Fish Tacos too.
Honestly, my favorite Fish Tacos are at that Mexican place in the Passageway in the Old Market. It’s too early, can’t even remember the name.
The Mexican place in the Old Market Passageway is called Trini’s. =)
in 1963, my family ate the greatest fried chicken. I believe the restaurant was named “Roses.” Do you have any info. thanks.
Roses? It has been closed for a while now. You can though, get the same fried chicken in a place in Treynor Iowa called “The Rose” at “4 West Main Street” They can reached at 712-487-3609.
Good luck and sorry for the bad news.
~The Omaha Critic.
For Mexican food, you should try Rivera’s on 120th & Blondo. On fried chicken, I still remember Rose’s Lodge, which means I need to go to Treyner IA one of these days. I am still hungry for a Big Todd from Todds Drive In on 76th & Dodge.
